A LITTLE HISTORY:
This 1868 home of the John Hopkins family (Baltimore Hospital and University fame) will take you back in time to the extravagant time period of the post Civil War Gilded Age. Explore this canal town of the Susquehanna River and Chesapeake Bay. Yes, George Washington slept here many times. French troops under the command of the Marquis de Lafayette encamped here and named the city during the Revolutionary War. In 1812, the town suffered the ravages of the British, who burned it to the ground.

Check-In is 3:00pm or after, Check-Out to 11am.
We accept cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard with a 50% deposit to secure one of our delightful rooms.

Lafayette Suite- $148 per double occupancy
Rochambeau- $138 per double occupancy
DeGrace- $128 per double occupancy

Note: All rooms are subject to six percent state sales tax.

Breakfasts:
Breakfasts are served on most weekends at an additional charge per person.

Today you may enjoy the town and the ambiance of La Cle D'or Guesthouse with your choice of one of our exquisite rooms: the Lafayette suite with private bathroom and antechamber/ sunroom, or the Rochambeau with private bath with tub. Also available is the DeGrace bedroom which could share the bath of the Rochambeau Suite. Unusual antiques abound and Strauss chandeliers illuminate most rooms. Delight in the original parlor alcove; radiate in the sunny garden rooms; or stroll in our lovely brick-walled "secret" garden entered by wrought iron gates. A landscaped flagstone terrace, furnished brick portico are available to guests. Lavish rooms include cable TV and VCR. Start your day with a filling and satisfying breakfast served in our Provence blue and yellow dining room. The home is centrally air-conditioned and heated. La Cle D'or Guesthouse is only moments away from antiquing, historical sites, boating and marinas, museums, golfing, nature walks, kayaking, fishing and seafood restaurants.
